ROC Trust have started a funeral fundraiser to cover the cost of Alex's funeral expenses and to help his family members.
Hamilton, Waikato
Mukiza Rwanbara Alexandre (known to his kiwi friends as Alex) was a young man of 23 when he came to NZ with his family. He had already experienced a life most young men have never had to go through, having spent 10 years in a refugee camp in Rwanda after his family had to flee the Congo in 2009.
Alex's family lost him in Waikato river and its devastating that he became another drowning statistic this summer.
Mukiza was a hard worker, gospel singer, a supporter of his community, and was excited about starting a farming cadetship this year with his kiwi friend Brian.
We want your help to support Alex's family with the funeral expenses as they have very limited means.
ROC Trust has become a strong pillar of support to refugees from 9 countries for 19 years. We encourage a culture of acceptance, love, and growth, so that former refugees can become self-sufficient and independent in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We hope you can help the family cover the funeral costs with a small donation, as they have very limited means. Aroha and thanks to you for your support. ACC will also provide some financial support to the family.
Your message will be displayed on the page and emailed to the donor.
Your new message will also be emailed to the donor.
