This November, Lucy from Auckland will be running the half marathon (21.1km) in to raise funds for the UpsideDowns Education Trust!
Nationwide
Lucy has been working with Charlie, a long-time UpsideDowns member for four years now. She has decided to run the Auckland half marathon this year to raise money for UpsideDowns who supported Charlie from the time he was only 1 until he was 15 years old.
UpsideDowns provides essential speech and language therapy for over 200 Kiwi kids like Charlie who have Down syndrome. This crucial early intervention gives kids with Down syndrome their best chance to learn to speak, read, and write, and to live full, independent, and healthy lives.
Lucy is looking forward to embracing this challenge to help other awesome kids like Charlie realise their full potential.
The UpsideDowns Education Trust assists kids with Down syndrome in receiving life-changing speech language therapy. Can you help us give a voice to kids with Down syndrome?
Funds will be used to assist NZ children with Down syndrome in receiving life-changing speech language therapy.
You did it Lucy! 24 November 2021
Over the weekend, Lucy battled some very muggy conditions to run her own half-marathon course, culminating in a visit to her mate Charlie. We couldn't be prouder of your amazing effort Lucy, and together you have all raised enough to fund a year of speech therapy for 2 Kiwi kids with Down syndrome. What a stellar effort!! Thank you all so much for getting behind Lucy and UpsideDowns.
