Viv is shaving her head to help give a voice to Kiwi kids with Down syndrome!
She's saying goodbye to those gorgeous locks and looking to raise funds for UpsideDowns Education Trust, a local charity providing speech and language therapy for kids and young people with Down syndrome, empowering them to speak, read, and write.
By supporting Viv in her big shave, you'll be helping to provide the single most important service for helping kids with Down syndrome lead lives of good health, social connection, and resilience. Without access to speech and language therapy, children with Down syndrome will likely remain non-verbal throughout their lives. Yet this life-changing therapy is not publicly funded, which is where UpsideDowns comes in.
Your support can make a huge difference for the next generation of Kiwi kids with Down syndrome.
About us
The UpsideDowns Education Trust assists kids with Down syndrome in receiving life-changing speech language therapy. Can you help us give a voice to kids with Down syndrome?
Use of funds
All funds raised will be spent on providing speech and language therapy for Kiwi kids with Down syndrome. UpsideDowns currently supports around 300 whānau throughout the country.

Thanks to one person's brave styling decision and the generous support of the community, Viv's Big Shave raised a mighty $1760!
It's a fantastic result! This funding will fund about 20 sessions of life-changing speech and language therapy for Kiwi kids living with Down syndrome.
We know this service is crucial to the cognitive and social development of our kids, many would remain non-verbal throughout their lives without it. But speech and language therapy is not publicly funded and without help many families are unable to afford the cost. Your support is invaluable in helping UpsideDowns make speech and language therapy accessible to all Kiwi kids with Down syndrome.
