ORPHAN ALFAN - A CHEF IN PREPARATION

$55 of $1,110 goal
Given by 2 generous donors in one year

Life has hope when an orphan has the possibility to be able to stand on his own feet with a qualification for secure employment at the end!

Wellington

After both parents died, no relations would help the 3 sons. They lived in a roofless house in Mariakani living day by day by food and clothing that came their way. One man decided he would take the youngest, Alfan, and help him through his schooling. Then he moved – but not with Alfan. He joined his brothers, Shaban and Eddy. By that stage Harvest Partnership helped the Kensha Street Youth football outreach to be born. We managed to get Alfan into a high school near Nairobi and later to a college in Mombasa. He was a dedicated youth and passed with high marks and good discipline.

He has decided to be a chef and located a one year course at a college in Mombasa to gain a hoteling certificate. He has completed the first half of the course with great credit. We have just received a letter from the course directors to say he is doing so well he should advance to the 2020 3 year diploma course.
