Please help Outpawed Manawatu to purchase hospital-grade fibreglass isolation cages to care for sick cats and kittens.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Outpawed was lucky enough to receive a grant in 2017 to purchase a set of three hospital-grade isolation cages for its Wellington intake centre. We now desperately need a unit for our Manawatu branch. A kind donor has offered to pay half of the cost under a dollar match campaign - that is, if we can raise half the funds needed to purchase a unit, he will meet the rest of the costs!
Why do we need these cages? At Outpawed, we are dedicated to pursuing best animal welfare practices. When a cat comes in it goes through a ten-day quarantine to rule out serious or life-threatening infectious diseases. We also isolate cats that present with symptoms of illness during their time in care. Fibreglass isolation cages are designed to be easy to disinfect and prevent cross-contamination. Specially-designed perspex doors allow for easy cleaning and containment while allowing for proper ventilation. Having access to these cages in Wellington has made it possible for us to intake sick cats and kittens with much-reduced risk.
Outpawed's Manawatu branch often deals with infectious illnesses such as ringworm, coccidiosis and cat flu, and would greatly benefit from the use of these specially designed fibreglass cages. Please donate even a dollar or two, and know that your donation will be matched dollar for dollar!
Outpawed is a charitable trust. We are involved in the care and management of stray, abandoned and community cats in the Wellington and Manawatu region. Our goal is to improve the lives of domestic felines.
The money will be used to purchase a set of three fibreglass isolation cages for Outpawed Manawatu.
