Raising funds for a single mother suffering from cancer
Wellington, Kapiti Coast District
Rachel is a single mum living on the Kapiti Coast who has been undergoing Chemotherapy/Surgery/Radiation treatments for over a year now.
She is currently undergoing testing for possible metastatic cancer on top of everything already happening.
She still has quite a way to go with this plus other complications arising from this.
She often cannot work due to be unwell, however as a single mum finds this hard as she still needs to provide for her daughter Georgia.
If we were able to raise some money from our community, she would be able to have the time to recover properly, be a present mother and start to feel like herself.
If you are in the position to donate anything small or large, please do.
Details of Rachel's Cancer & Treatment so far:
Rachel has breast cancer which is called Triple Negative which means it is harder to treat, and hormones therapy does not work. This type of cancer makes up 10 - 15% of breast cancers.
She is currently undergoing testing for possible metastatic cancer.
As to date she has done the following: six months of intravenous Chemotherapy, surgery (Lumpectomy and node removal), course of daily Radiation, oral Chemotherapy.

Results of Rib Resection 14 September 2022
Sorry for the late update, I have the results and....... Negative for metastasis (whoop whoop) . This is fantastic news and I can now breath a bit with a little less anxiety. The surgeon thinks the hotspot was damage from the strong radiation treatment I had originally which has done a number on my surrounding ribs also.
I dodged a bullet and I'm so so greatful for each and every one of you ❤️
I'm not out of the woods and won't be for a while but I won this one :)
