Raising Money to Build a Playground for a School in one of the Poorest Areas of Nepal

If you ever fly into Kathmandu airport, look out of the right hand side of the plane as you come in to land. If it is a clear day, then you will will be able to see a little slum area and, just behind it, Deeya Shree School. The school provides free education to the children who live in this area. I am raising funds to help build a playground for the children who attend the school.

Deeya Shree school itself is run by Keshab. I can honestly say that Keshab is one of the most honest, generous, altruistic and kind-hearted people you could ever wish to meet. He does a fantastic job of educating the children in difficult circumstances.

The school has developed leaps and bounds in recent years. Comparing some of the older photographs to the more recent ones you can see that the walls have been painted and that the electricity is working (almost) constantly. In 2021, we created a computer lab at the school with the help of a NZ based charity called 'EduTech Nepal'. This helped the students to gain access to computers and obtain valuable IT skills: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/building-a-computer-lab-for-students-in-one

The purpose of this Give A Little page is to help raise approximately $4,400 USD = $7,180 NZD required to build a playground at the school.
