Our beautiful coffee trailer was targeted recently, and they took almost everything inside. Chip in to help us get back up and running.
Auckland
Our beautiful coffee trailer was targeted during the lockdown, and they took almost everything.
We're really gutted as our little community cafe/ hospo training space will be out of action for a long time with the damage that has been caused.
Can you help us recover so we can continue supporting our community?
The Village Cafe - Mangere East was set up as a community-run social enterprise, owned and operated by our community trust and registered charity. Through the cafe we aim to provide meaningful opportunities to train and work in a hospitality environment, and gain confidence and skills transitioning into further career opportunities.
Our main targets were mums and young people from Mangere/ South Auckland.
It's still our aim, with your support we can overcome this and get back to supporting our local whānau into careers and providing our community with healthy kai.
Ngā mihi nui.
The Mangere East Community Centre is run by the Mangere East ACCESS Trust. A charitable organisation set up in 1997 to serve people living in the Mangere East community.
Our organisation focuses on enriching peoples lives & meeting community needs. To do this we have a dedicated team who manage the centre & lead our programmes & services. We have 9 staff & 2 volunteers. We pride ourselves in offering high quality evidence-based programmes & services. We have a number of long term strategic partners who we share resources, expertise & administration support.
The grants we receive enable us to run a vibrant & busy community centre & make it accessible to everyone.
The money raised will help towards replacing the stolen items and costs to repair the café trailer (our target to raise $5,000 towards these costs).
