Stable to Stirrup is a registered charitable trust set up for the rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming of Standardbred racehorses.
Swannanoa, Canterbury
Lace is one of our retired Standardbreds being retrained for a life after racing. This lovely chestnut mare was involved in a paddock accident which caused bruising to the bars in her mouth, minor tongue lacerations, and major tears in both corners of her mouth! We are not quite sure how this happened, but we think she got electric fencing tape stuck in her mouth. This has required emergency veterinary treatment including tetanus shots, sedation, and stitches, along with daily cleaning of the wounds and a course of antibiotics.
We are asking for donations towards Lace's treatment.
Standardbred Stable to Stirrup Charitable Trust rehomes retired standardbred racehorses and educates the public on ex-racehorse welfare.
The funds will go directly to Lace's veterinary treatment and rehabilitation.
