Standardbred Stable to Stirrup Charitable Trust

Help us to give a new life to ex-racehorses. They need feed, pasture, farrier and veterinary services while being trained for rehoming.

Nationwide

Every year standardbred racehorses are retired from the harness racing track and taken in for training and rehoming by Stable to Stirrup. The horses need first aid, feed, hay, rugs, pasture, as well as a farrier and veterinary care during this time.

Often horses will need to have a period of rest before they can enter into a retraining programme. Hundreds of standardbred horses do not have a chance to be rehomed due to a lack of resources. It is a sad reality for these beautiful horses, but we are committed to change it.

Horses don't get any cheaper once they retire from racing and the true costs to retrain and rehome are about $2000 per horse. We desperately need financial support to ensure these animals are healthy and happy.
