Providing rehab, recovery, and respite to those with physical or psychological injuries from safeguarding and caring for New Zealand.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
After the great success of the 2023 event, guess what is back!? But this time, even bigger!
The Tauranga Firefighters Inter Station Relations is the culmination of 15 minutes of planning & countless beverage fueled conversations about how the Firefighters of Tauranga could strengthen their bonds with each other whilst also keeping fit & raising much needed funds for a brilliant charity that is close to their hearts, Te Kiwi Māia.
Dunnie, Ashley, Derryn & Andrew have asked us to set up this page for them so they can raise funds for us! Isn't that awesome?
They will be asking friends, family and total strangers to give what they can to support this very important & sadly all too vital charity. But they know nothing should come for free, so to earn that hard earned coin they will be completing a marathon on the 29th October by any means possible.
Some will run, some will bike, some may skateboard, some will cry & a lot may eventually crawl but they all will complete a 42km course between Greerton, Tauranga, & Mount Maunganu Fire stations to push themselves & support the incredible humans doing fantastic things for our defence force & first responder whanau.
To increase the awesomeness of the day, they’ve even wrangled in firefighters & supporters from Hamilton, Kawerau, Rotorua, Gisborne and Taupo to improve their collective relations
Please if you can donate what you can to our fundraising for Te Kiwi Māia - & maybe come along for some beers and blister popping after the event!
Providing rehabilitation, recovery and respite to our people, who - as a result of their role in safeguarding and caring for New Zealanders - have physical or psychological injuries.
Funds will go towards Te Kiwi Māia and the great work we do for our first responders and NZDF personnel. Thanks team!
What an incredible day! 31 October 2024
On Tuesday, we came together for the Inter Station Relations event, and it couldn’t have been more powerful! Firefighters from across Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Hamilton, Kawerau, Rotorua, Gisborne, and Taupō united, bringing the energy, spirit, and resilience that define our community.
A huge shoutout to those who traveled even further—from Auckland and all the way down south from Central Otago—to be part of this event! And to the two Hato Hone St John personnel who jumped in to run.
Together, they completed a 42km course between Greerton, Tauranga, and Mount Maunganui Fire Stations, pushing limits and supporting the amazing work of Te Kiwi Māia for our defence force and first responder whānau.
A special thanks to the organisers, Dunnie, Ashley, Derryn, and Andrew, as well as to all participants, donors and those who shared their stories. Your commitment and courage continue to bring us closer together, reminding us of the strength and unity we have as a team.
Let’s keep building on this momentum and supporting each other!
