Tess's Emergency Surgery

$300 of $800 goal
Given by 17 generous donors in 8 weeks

Sometimes the animals in our care require emergency vet attention, which puts a large financial strain on New Lives Animal Rescue.

Waikato

Tess (an 8 month old female heading dog x) is one of our pups who required more veterinary care than usual after developing a post-op complication that would have proven fatal if not intercepted by emergency surgery.

Tess was at her foster home when she took ill, thankfully her wonderful fosterer, Kirsten, was at hand and rushed Tess to the vets, where it was quickly diagnosed that she had developed an internal abscess that had ruptured.

The surgery was a success and Tess is now happily back at her foster home and is recovering well. Even better news for Tess is, despite her medical emergency last weekend, she has won the hearts of and has been pre-adopted by her fab new family, who she will join once she has fully rested and recovered.

Unfortunately the emergency trip to our after hours vet clinic has left a large financial strain on the New Lives Animal Rescue funds. The vet bill for Tess is in excess of $800, and we are in desperate need to raise funds so we can recover some of these costs.

New Lives Animal Rescue is a not for profit charity, we rely solely on donations and the generosity from members of the public.

Please help support New Lives Animal Rescue so we can continue to help more animals in need like Tess!!

New Lives Animal Rescue's involvement (page creator)

I have been personally involved with New Lives Animal Rescue since before its inception in 2014. I am a fosterer but I also help with admin & fundraising. Animals are my passion, particularly dogs, and being involved with charities, such as New Lives Animal Rescue, is very rewarding.

About us

Established in 2014, New Lives Animal Rescue is a not for profit organisation that specializes in rescuing and re-homing dogs and puppies, but can also accommodate other species where possible.

New Lives is based in the Waikato region, however, will potentially provide support to animals New Zealand wide.

We work with Pounds to rescue unwanted, neglected and unclaimed dogs and will assist where possible when people find themselves needing to rehome their animals for genuine reasons.

If we are unable to assist, we will work with other organisations to achieve a positive outcome for the animal(s).

At New Lives Animal Rescue we are passionate about rehoming into forever families. We are also actively engaged in encouraging, supporting and educating the community on the importance of de-sexing dogs and cats, so that in the future there are less unwanted animals who end up in the pound as a result of over breeding.
