The Back Room Project is for an intimate dedicated performance space at the Music Shop @Lotus Realm, a creative hub for the community
Waikato
The picture shows the area waiting to be developed. The Back Room Project is a proposed dedicated performance space at Lotus Realm, 714 Pollen St, Thames NZ, to be a hub for aspiring and established musicians, students, other creatives and young people of all ages to meet and share their talents and inspiration with each other and the wider community.
The Music Shop @Lotus Realm already acts as an informal creative hub for the community, but a dedicated space would allow for ongoing usage by artists to collaborate and develop their creative ideas sharing them in a safe and supportive environment.
I love being part of the Creative Community in Grahamstown, Thames NZ and what we are aiming to do at Lotus Realm is to support our musicians, students, performing artists, young people of all ages to get together and share their talents and inspiration with each other and the wider community.
Lotus Realm is a fundraising initiative for the Sudarshanaloka Trust, a registered Buddhist Charity that administers The Sudarshanaloka Retreat Centre in the Tararu Valley near Thames, NZ. Lotus Realm provides ethical work opportunities in Thames, with a Retail Emporium Shop and Music Shop. We are a hub or meeting place for the creative energies of our community.
Funds raised will be used towards the creation of this space: design, materials, fittings, equipment and labour. We will gratefully accept donations of time, skills, materials as well as monetary donations (which will be eligible for tax deductibility). Please get in touch if you are interested in being involved in any aspect of this project.
