Help provide adventure programs to build resilience and equip our taiohi to thrive. Funding has been tough this year and we need support.
Waikato, Waikato District
A student writes as they reflect on our Manahau program, "I can’t tell you enough how much impact you have had on my life, I now am not afraid to take risks, be myself, but most importantly I have confidence now. Thank you for everything, you helped me overcome some of my fears"
Our Manahau programs Res-Kids and Thrive have been equipping young people to thrive in the Thames/Hauraki region since 2016. We work with almost every primary school in Thames and Paeroa. Join us to help keep this amazing mahi going.
Our youth work covers three areas:
o Manahau: Seeking to see our Taiohi (young people)Thrive. We use adventure experiences to teach young people how to deal with the hard thoughts and learn the value of self and others.
o 24-7 YouthWork: Walking alongside high school students in a presence based approach. We are available to support and respond to individual needs instead of a one size fits all program.
o Community Support: We provide information and support to whanau and run professional development sessions for school staff.
Feedback from the community include:
“I have seen other programs of a similar nature. But the way your team does it is amazing. You link activities to learning so well and we really value having you in our school.” Te Puru School teacher
"His confidence in himself has grown and Res-Kids made him so happy. We wish it was a part of the permanent school program" Parent from Res-Kids
Times are tough and we need support to keep the team going.
Living Well Trust runs wellbeing programmes in local schools, mentors youth through to high school, and supports the wider community through the Thames Foodbank and a drop-in centre. It’s all about connection, hope, and walking alongside people.
The money will be spent to help keep us operating through 2024 and to continue building resilience and strengthening well being in our young people. Costs include staff wages, equipment, resources, and overheads.
Thanks for your support 13 February 2025
We are so thankful for the support we have received for the youth work. It really is changing lives. Last year we had a mum contact us with tears as she thanked us for the transformation in her home. Her son had become violent at home and unable to control his anger. After a term of mentoring with one of our youth workers his mum said he is now stepping out to breathe. "thank you our home is so much more calmer and I feel like we have our family back."

Thanks for the support Noel and Rae. We simply would not be able to achieve it without the support of awesome people like ourselves.
Thank you so much for your support Elizabeth. And for your kind words. We do our best to serve our young people to see them Thrive
