Support us as we build resilience and equip young people to thrive. The community see's the value of what we do and are asking for more.
Waikato
Our heart is for thriving communities, thriving young people and thriving families. Working across Primary school and secondary schools in Thames and Pearoa we provide adventure based programs and mentoring to support young people to deal with their hard thoughts and realise the value of self and others. We also operate the Thames foodbank and a drop in center in Thames.
The work we do in the community makes a difference and for that reason we are seeing requests for an increase from schools in Thames and Paeroa.
Feedback from the community include:
“I have seen other programs of a similar nature. But the way your team does it is amazing. You link activities to learning so well and we really value having you in our school.” Te Puru School teacher
"His confidence in himself has grown and Res-Kids made him so happy. We wish it was a part of the permanent school programme" Parent from Res-Kids
"I can’t tell you enough how much impact you have had on my life, I now am not afraid to take risks, be myself, but most importantly I have confidence now. Thank you for everything, you helped me overcome some of my fears" Feedback from a year 7 student
“The staff have changed over time but I remember them...” She went on to name different people over the years who have supported, counselled and walked alongside her. “I have been through a lot over the years and this is a safe place for me. The people who come through and the staff are like my family.” Open door drop in center user
Living Well Trust runs wellbeing programmes in local schools, mentors youth through to high school, and supports the wider community through the Thames Foodbank and a drop-in centre. It’s all about connection, hope, and walking alongside people.
We have joined Paeroa College 8 May 2024
It is with great excitement that we can say that on top of our primary school work and youth workers at Thames High School we also now have youth workers at Paeroa College. This term we are piloting a year 9 program based on aspects of what we do with the students in primary schools.
We are loving the college and the stunning culture they are building there.
