Help us keep youth mentoring and wellbeing programmes running in local schools—changing lives, one conversation at a time.
Waikato, Hauraki District
We’re $10,000 short for the year. But giving up isn’t an option.
These last 12 months alone, three young people—each quietly carrying the weight of hopelessness—reached out to one of our youth workers at the very edge. Because they had someone they knew, trusted, and felt safe with… they didn’t follow through with plans to end their lives.
They’re still here. They’re healing. They’re dreaming again.
This is the power of consistent presence. Of being there, week after week, in the schools of Thames and Paeroa—walking alongside over 400 students each year from age 10 to adulthood. We teach tools to navigate anxiety, build resilience, grow confidence, and remind kids they are not alone.
But right now, our work is $10,000 short of being sustainable. And we need your help.
If 100 people gave $100, we’d hit our target. But truly—every gift matters. Whether it’s $5 or $500, it’s fuel in the tank so we can keep turning up.
We don’t get government funding. And schools get us free of charge or for a fraction of the real cost. We exist because of people like you.
So if your heart beats a little faster reading this—would you consider giving?
Because when young people know someone will show up for them, everything starts to change.
Living Well Trust runs wellbeing programmes in local schools, mentors youth through to high school, and supports the wider community through the Thames Foodbank and a drop-in centre. It’s all about connection, hope, and walking alongside people.
The funds will help cover the shortfall in youth worker salaries, programme resources, and the behind-the-scenes costs that keep us turning up for young people when they need us most.
