At Doc Edge, we believe in the power of documentaries to inspire positive change by spreading awareness, encouraging discussion, fostering inclusion, and uniting communities.

Doc Edge has given a home and a voice to documentaries, filmmakers and issues that otherwise may not have ever been seen, heard or raised. We host the annual Doc Edge International Film Festival which contributes to our reputation as a country of culture, innovation, and exploration. That's why we're New Zealand's Academy Award® qualifying, international documentary film festival.

Our festival showcases the best of New Zealand and Pasifika stories to the world and brings the best of the world to us. By helping to educate our tamariki (children) with our Doc Edge Schools program, we are nurturing the next generation of storytellers in Aotearoa.

Doc Edge Schools connects students from Year 5 to 13 with curated films and learning kits to encourage an understanding of the world around us through documentary. We also proudly celebrate and showcase the amazing talents of aspiring student filmmakers in the annual Doc Edge Festival competition.
