I am running everyday for the next ten years (no breaks whatsoever) to raise funds for charities that are doing much needed work in NZ.

Attempt #1
On October 22nd, 2019, I decided to challenge myself to run every single day for a year. It has only just occurred to me that the challenge is a great excuse to fund raise for causes I feel are important.
Over a year later I have decided to up the anti and run everyday for the next ten years. This means I will finish the challenge on October 21st 2030.
Or at least that was the plan.
On April 6, 2021 while warming up for a race, I fell squarely onto my knee causing bone bruising which took me out of running for a few weeks. I would have run through the pain if I thought my knee could put up with all that added pressure but I decided to rest in the hopes of completing this goal later. My 531 day streak was over, and more importantly, my goal at 10 years was temporarily put on hold.
After some time to rest physically and mentally I'm back!
Attempt #2
Starting June 2, 2021, I will be running everyday for 10 years. This time, we will finish on June 1 2031. Doesn't that just sound futuristic??
Part of my motivation to do this is to raise funds for charities that I think are doing important work. My hope is that what I am doing will raise awareness about these charities, their causes and inspire others to challenge themselves beyond what they think they are capable of.
To make the challenge even more exciting (and stressful), for every run I miss, I will donate $100 and if I miss three or more runs throughout the ten years, I will donate a further 10% of the total amount fund raised by the end.
To keep track of my progress and hold me accountable to running daily, here is a link to my Strava profile which records my running activity: https://www.strava.com/athletes/16264750
Thank you for any donations or support. It is all very much appreciated.
I'm running everyday for the next ten years to raise money for charities doing incredible work for those in need, and to push myself beyond what most people think is possible.
