Raising funds for kiwi kids
Hoon Hay, Christchurch
My name is Dave, I am a husband, father to 2 boys, youth pastor at my local church and youth worker at my local school. Things that inspire me are running, the outdoors and adventures.
On July 30th, I am going to run along the top of the Port Hills in Christchurch, following the Crater Rim, a total of 34km. The route is a mix of uphill and downhill trail running, following a narrow path on an arcing rim of an extinct Volcano.
In doing this I hope to firstly, enjoy the adventure and challenge, as this is my longest run to date, and secondly to raise money for KidsCan.
KidsCan is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading charity dedicated to helping Kiwi kids affected by poverty. They help tamariki experiencing hardship by providing food, jackets, shoes and health products to schools and early childhood centres across New Zealand. By donating you are fighting poverty in New Zealand.
Any donation is welcomed and will go a long way to providing the essentials to kids affected by poverty.
$30 gives ONE child in need healthy food, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes and access to health products throughout the year.
$60 gives TWO children in need healthy food, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes and access to health products throughout the year.
$90 gives THREE children in need healthy food, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes and access to health products throughout the year.
Completed! 14 August 2022

The run was great, hard, beautiful, painful and fun plus the weather was stunning. Ill be resting my legs for the week and tending to my blisters. Thanks again!
