Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch

Help us make meaningful mentoring matches for young people in our city by donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch. Thank you!

Canterbury

Our primary goal is to build resilience into young people and provide opportunities and experiences for them - so that they may reach their potential!

We do this by providing a free mentoring programme for at risk and disadvantaged young people by recruiting adult mentor volunteers from the community.

Each mentor is matched with a young person and they will spend an hour a week together for a minimum of one year.

Together they will engage in a variety of activities together from baking to cycling, from craft projects to building model planes, meanwhile building a positive relationship that builds the young person confidence.

Our staff provide the necessary accountability and support for the special people who offer their time to build up and support a young person.

one hour. once a week. one life

mentoring. so simple, it works

More about us

There are thousands of young people who are missing out because of the lack of positive adult role models in their lives. Your donation will help every child to thrive, despite what their background or family situation throws at them.
