Catholic Discipleship College

Forming disciples, fully alive in Christ Jesus

Auckland

Why we exist:

The Catholic Discipleship College exists because all people, and especially today’s youth, have a deep longing to encounter Christ and receive His call to a personal friendship.

'The moment has come to commit all of the Church's energies to a new evangelization.' (Pope St. John Paul II)

What we do:

CDC desires to form saints, leaders for the Church. We seek to foster a transformation of the mind and heart, enabling students to face the reality of God and to become more and more docile to the Holy Spirit.

“The CDC programme goes beyond the academic to foster inner conversion and to produce graduates who will bring their love of our Lord to every sphere of their future lives.” (Bishop Patrick Dunn, Auckland)

How we do it:

‘Go, make disciples of all nations’ (Mt 28:19)

CDC is a nine month immersion in Scripture, prayer, philosophy and theology, lived in community open to mission.

Our students study philosophy as a preparation for theology. We challenge them to live a life of prayer and fraternal love, centred on the Word of God and the Holy Eucharist, free from attachment to social media and the culture of entertainment.

The formation offered at CDC includes personal studies, regular classes by specialist lecturers, spiritual direction, pilgrimages, retreats and conferences. Students share household tasks and leadership, and take part in outreach missions and recreation activities. All this supports a purification in the truth, opening the heart to a personal intimacy with Christ.
