We offer professional support, information and education for people with Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson's disease and their families.
Canterbury
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s Society of Canterbury provides services and support for people with MS or Parkinson’s disease, and their care partners and family/whanau. These are life-long, chronic, neurological conditions and those living with these conditions are often reluctant to engage with either local community groups or support organisations. We are working to remove the barriers and offer a safe, inclusive, and secure place where everyone is welcomed and enabled to live well in their community.
We have been providing service to our Community since 1962 and all money donated to the Society remains in Canterbury and provides direct support for our 900+ members. Our team is highly regarded in professional circles, both locally and nationally as a resource for evidence-based information and services.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest. 80% of the money our organisation needs to provide our services, comes from fundraising activity and member support.
We provide practical support to those living with MS or Parkinson's in Canterbury. We provide Nurse and Physio Consultations, Exercise Programmes, Educational Workshops and Social Activities for our members and their family, friends and caregivers.
