We provide sanctuary for penguins and care for sick and injured penguins. We rely on donations for funding.

Penguin Rescue has been in operation at Katiki Point, Moeraki for 30 years and has been instrumental in helping to ensure the survival of the critically endangered Yellow Eyed Penguin.

It provides safe habitat through year round predation management, and the restoration of vegetation and housing for penguins.

It runs a hospital targeted at treating penguins for sickness and injuries.

Our mission:

The new season has begun 15 September 2024

Our first Hoiho egg was laid on 14th September - the new season has begun.

Last season it cost us over $70,000 to care for our penguins. Please help us.
