The Race4Life Trust facilitates events for Palliative Care patients. These events connect patient family and community.
Nationwide
Working with palliative care patients has taught us the value of living in the moment, which is one of the beautiful gifts of having a dying wish granted.
Covid has impacted greatly on our organisation. As a result we have decided to focus on our hugely successful Track Days and solely hold events with the aim of reaching the lives of as many palliative care patients as possible. We hold three major events throughout the country. One in Hampton Downs in the Waikato, a second in Teretonga raceway in Invercargill and a third in Manfeild Chris Amon Circuit in Feilding.
We are raising funds to ensure these spectacular events can continue and impact the lives of hundreds of patients, their families, bringing a little magic into their lives and to communities throughout New Zealand.
The aim of Race4LifeTrust is to facilitate events for Palliative Care patients. These events connect patient family and community. Despite shutting down the individualised wish service, due to the impact of COVID the focus of the RACE4LIFE trust has continued by shifting to solely hold events with the aim of reaching the lives of as many palliative care patients as possible. The Hampton Downs Track Day event (which is where the Race4Life started) has continued to be run, and has become totally self-sufficient over 15 years. This has enabled the trust to continue to provide special MAGIC among the 600 people who attend.
The Trust has now built this event into a series of similar events and have subsequently replicated this model on the South Island at Teretonga Motor Sport Park in Invercargill, albeit a much smaller event. Plus in October 2024, the inaugural Central NZ Track Day event will take place at Manfeild Chris Amon Circuit in Palmerston North, with an estimated 450 people, expected to attend.
