Help us smash period stigma, provide period education and disposable/reusable period products to people around NZ who can't afford them.
Nationwide
Our vision is intergenerational period equity in Aotearoa – all period stigma is smashed, everyone has access to menstrual health education + people have access to the period products they want.
The Period Place was part of the Positive Periods Campaign that got free period products in schools and kura across Aotearoa - but kids don't wake up at school.
If a kid can't access period products, you can be sure their family members are struggling to buy them as well.
Working with our Impact Partners (health services, charities, foodbanks, maraes, iwi + community organisations), we have:
- donated over 1.4 million disposable period products
- donated over 10 thousand reusable products
- facilitated and provided menstrual education for thousands of people in Aotearoa (whether they get a period or not!) in the form of brochures, workshops, The Period Place Podcast
- reduced menstrual stigma for thousands of people in Aotearoa through social and traditional media
We've got a small team, but we pack a mighty punch. Help us keep punching above our weight!
The Period Place is the largest menstrual justice charity in Aotearoa, working towards period equity.
We do this through advocacy, outreach, education, promotion and our nationwide period product donation programme.
The Period Place is uniquely suited in Aotearoa to carry out our mahi under our three foundational pillars: conversation, education and access.
Support us to help us eliminate period stigma, provide education, and disposable and reuseable period products nationwide.
Thanks for helping us donate so many products this year! 3 November 2022
