WORD (World Off-road Riding Department) is a youth mountain bike charity founded in 2013 on a mission to change the world one ride at a time. We provide term programmes, holiday camps, and events for 7-17 tamariki & rangitahi in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We are committed and passionate about creating awesome experiences to build youth confidence, develop new friendships, and foster a life-long love of mountain biking.

The WONDERS aims to develop connection, grit, and the curiosity of what’s possible. The grand finale of this programme is a 2 day overnight bikepacking trip from school to an epic campground!

Farewell Dan – Riding Into New Adventures! Our mate Dan—physicist, cyclist, and all-around legend—is off to Australia, so we’re marking the occasion with a donation to WORD. Dan’s passion for two wheels (and physics) has been an inspiration, so it’s only fitting to support the next generation of shredders as he heads off. May they tackle trails with the same enthusiasm Dan brought to our department—and may he survive the magpies. Ride on, Dan! 🚵‍♂️🐦💨
