Participating in Rata Shootathon World Record for Southland Charity Hospital
Southland
On September 30 2022, we are spending 24 hours at ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill shooting for a world record to raise funds for the Southland Charity Hospital.
The Rata Shootathon will be a showcase of talent & guts, and we are aiming to crack the current record of 14,400 goals in 24 hours, all the while raising money with every goal that successfully goes through the hoop.
Our team members are: Shanaye Jenkins, Rielly Clarke, Monique Coupe, Megan Ward, Larissa Miller, Zhan'e Alice Te Huia, Hannah Robertson & Special Invitational Player: Della-May Vining
Our team representing Makarewa Netball Club are excited to be given the opportunity to participate in this charity event. A great cause which we all strongly support, combined with avid netball enthusiasts, and (for most of us) a love for shooting hoops – we all leaped at the chance to be involved. We are not a full team of shooters, we like to think of ourselves as a bit of a party mix! Nevertheless, we are ready to give the 24 hour Shootathon our best shot to help raise money and reach the 100k goal for the Southland Charity Hospital.
Shootathon - Results 4 October 2022
We are so excited to have completed our Shootathon event on Friday / Saturday. Our Raptors team took out an incredible score of 31,363 goals scored in 24 hours, doubling the existing world record! They are officially GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BREAKERS!
We are so so proud and thank you to our sponsors along with the donations on this page, we are expecting to donate $60,000.00 to the Southland Charity Hospital. Thank you so much for all of your support!
