The Free Store Festival Appeal 2022

The Free Store is a vibrant community in central Pōneke/Wellington, that freely distributes quality, surplus kai from Wellington eateries directly to those in need of it. Everyone is welcome.

We are a food rescue charity that saves Aotearoa an average of 92,546kgs in carbon emissions per year. This works out to giving away 160,485 meals a year, which requires a lot of coordination, and we need funds to make this happen.

We are currently promoting our annual fundraiser, The Free Store Festival. It is a huge event, with four local music acts, stand-up comedy, a market, a pub quiz, raffles, and a bespoke beer brewed by Garage Project. Our goal is to raise $15,000 on the day, so come down and join the fun! This page lets you give from anywhere so if you can’t be there, help us get to our target. Every dollar counts!
