The Free Store Festival Appeal 2023

$2,698 of $4,000 goal
Given by 20 generous donors in 6 weeks

As part of our annual appeal, help us achieve our Givealittle target of $4000! Donate to food rescue, redistribution, and foster community.

Wellington

Join The Free Store in our annual fundraising appeal! Our volunteer base collects surplus food from 62 local cafes, eateries, and businesses every weekday, before it's redistributed to those in need. The Free Store is a community where anyone who comes has the opportunity to belong, be involved, and find significance in the community.

As part of this, we bring you The Free Store Festival, our annual fundraiser! Hosted around the corner from The Free Store at Southern Cross Garden Bar on Sunday 26th November (3pm-9pm), we'll have an afternoon of live music, a market, a pub quiz, raffles, and a bespoke beer brewed by Garage Project. Whether or not you are able to join our in-person fundraising efforts, consider donating to this Givealittle to help keep the wheels turning at The Free Store for another year.

About us

The Free Store redistributes quality surplus food from over 62 eateries in Pōneke (Wellington) to anyone. We are a community of people from all walks of life who gather around this surplus kai (food) and become friends & family.

Use of funds

The money will be used for staff wages, food delivery, E Van expenses, and other operational costs.
