Community Eats - food support for locals who are financially struggling! Are you able to help?

$400 of $3,000 goal
Given by 5 generous donors in 8 weeks

If you are able to, please help us offer support with food to local families and individuals in need in the Birkdale and Beach Haven area.

Beach Haven, Auckland

As the cost of living gets higher and the need in the community for support increases - the avenues for funding reduce. Are you able to help? We currently are in urgent need of support for our small food bank in Beach Haven.

Our Community Eats programme supports many families and individuals in need with food parcels in the Birkdale and Beach Haven area. With Christmas fast approaching, we are launching our end of year food drive to support our local whanau and people in need, please give generously if you are in a position to do so. Every little bit helps! 100% of this money will help us purchase a good range of staple food for those in need.

Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project Inc (BBCP) have been supporting our people in need with kai for the last decade. We are providing at least 35- 40 whānau/ households (approx 100-120 people) with food parcels each week. Whānau are referred through to BBCP from local kura, health providers and social services.

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD donations are also being collected at your local schools, rest homes, local businesses and community houses. Call us to take part - 09 483 9942 or email projects@birkdalebeachhaven.org.nz

About us

The Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project House operates from two key sites, one on Birkdale Road and the other on Beach Haven Road. Both houses facilitate a series of community initiatives, spaces as well the Community Eats programme.

Use of funds

All donations will go towards putting together food parcels for local families and individuals in need locally. Most of this is non-perishables, so it can be stored if not needed at the time of purchase.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
