Donate your coffee savings to Totara Park NZ Riding for the Disabled. Help us reach more riders, change more lives.

While in Lock Down many of us saved money on coffees. By donating the savings from the cost of a few coffees you can help make a difference for our riders at Totara Park NZ Riding for the Disabled. A donation will help with purchases of safety stirrups to therapy balls and much more. This type of equipment is used for therapy based activities that exercise the body while a rider is on a horse. The horses movement works a range of muscles and combined with exercises provides physiotherapy unmatched by alternative methods.

Totara Park NZ Riding for the Disabled receives no government funding , is a non-profit organisation and registered charitable trust. We are affiliated to NZRDA and are one of 54 Riding for the Disabled Groups in New Zealand. Riding for the disabled provides interaction with horses to develop increased ability, independence and self worth for children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges.

Rider Kyle & Pony Bobby  26 May 2020

First a huge thank you to YOU our supporter. Our volunteers are passionate about what they do and enjoy helping our many riders who range in age from 3 years to 65+years achieve their personal rider goals.

Horse riding alone works lots of muscles in a riders body but the array of activities set by our coach and volunteers each week helps to work other muscles too. RDA doesn't just help physically, a rider like Kyle (pictured) has the undivided attention of three friendly adults for an hour. At the end of the session Kyle gets to pat Bobby and thank her for taking good care of him.
