WALKING FOR TOTARA PARK RIDING FOR THE DISABLED

$1,360 donated
Given by 25 generous donors in 24 days

Your donation will help provide life changing opportunities for disabled riders through therapy based horse riding activities.

Auckland

We're a group who volunteer at Totara Park Riding for the Disabled. We're completing the Rotary All Fit 10 Km coastal walk run. Please show your support by sponsoring our group in this event.

We're passionate about Riding for the Disabled as we see first hand how horse riding improves the lives of our clients.

Totara Park RDA is one of the 54 Riding for the Disabled Groups in New Zealand. Riding for the Disabled provides interaction with horses to develop increased ability, independence and self worth for children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges.

We focus on building each rider’s capability & strength. They learn to move, connect, adapt & succeed. This leads to a stronger sense of confidence that translates from the arena into home, schools & the community.

Our greatest expense is our horses - our main assets! Without them there would be no riding therapy for people with disabilities in our community. The horses must be fit , healthy and happy all the time. We are a non profit receiving no government funding. Our rider fees are minimal and do not cover our running costs so many volunteer hours are spent fundraising and sourcing corporate funding.

About us

Totara Park RDA [TPRDA] formerly Whitford RDA was established in 1977 & is affiliated to NZ Riding for the Disabled. Riding for the Disabled provides therapeutic interaction with horses for people with disabilities. Totara Park RDA is self funded.

Use of funds
