Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) Annual Appeal 2022

Volunteers (and their hounds) will take to the streets this February to raise funds to help us re-home retired racing greyhounds with loving families. GAP’s Annual Appeal is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and is a great way for us to connect with our community and potential new adopters.

If you are volunteering in the street appeal, you can set up your own fundraising page for you and your volunteering dog. This is a great way for all your family and friends to support you and leave something in your ‘virtual bucket’, even if they cannot make it to your street appeal location.

If you are unable to make it to our Street Appeal, setting up a fundraising page is also a great way to show your support.

There are also lots of other ways you can help us with our annual appeal, every little bit helps! No matter your age – you can support the rehoming of retired greyhounds in NZ by fundraising for us.

Throughout February, you can set up your own GiveaLittle page on behalf of GAP NZ, and get creative and create your own fundraising activity. Here are some ideas:

- Host an event

It’s the perfect excuse to gather family and friends to enjoy some delicious food. Ask attendees to make a donation to your page in exchange for their meal.

- Challenge yourself

Set yourself a fitness challenge or give up something you would like to reduce - coffee, sugar, meat, alcohol etc. Have your family and friends sponsor your challenge with a donation to your page.

- Host a school or community bake sale

Get some friends or family together to help you bake some sweet treats and set up a stand at your school (with their permission) or a popular spot within your community. You could even have a go at baking your own dog treats!

The options are endless and every little bit counts to help us find loving families for our greyhounds.
