Love Your New Neighbour 2019 Appeal for Refugees

$950 donated
Given by 8 generous donors in 7 weeks

Jesus showed us how to love. We think it's especially important to love our new neighbours.

Auckland

We have more new neighbours arriving in Auckland this year, and together with Red Cross NZ, we’d love your support in making them feel welcome, loved and at home in our city.

Refugees settling in New Zealand are provided with a house and some furniture, but often little else. They need essential items like kitchenware, bedding, towels and school gear to get their lives back up and running, and Red Cross NZ relies on the generosity of people like us to make sure each family has what they need.

The Red Cross have put together some bundles of essential items (based on a family of 4), to make it super easy to give. Check out what your support can provide for families!

$150 Bedding bundle: 2 single duvets and 2 cover sets, 1 queen duvet and cover set, 4 pillows

$100 Kitchen bundle: 12 piece plate sett, 16 piece cutlery set, cups, rice cooker, toaster, kettle

$50 Towel bundle: 4 bath towels

$30 Hop Card: $10 for the card and $20 credit

$30 School essentials bundle: Lunch box set including bag, pencil case, 2 pencils, coloured pencil set

After a 5% Givealittle fee, all of your generous giving will go towards making houses into homes for refugee families. All of the net contribution will be donated to Red Cross NZ who will purchase the above items (or the equivalent, based on immediate needs), and then distribute them to new refugee households in Auckland.

About us

Our mission as a church community at St Paul’s is to follow the way of Christ by cultivating authentic worship, deep relationships, and God’s life in the city. We’re privileged to be the first church in Auckland and we’re seeking to extend that legacy into the future for God’s glory.

Use of funds

Money raised will be used to provide refugee families with essential items like towels, bedding, kitchen appliances, school essentials, and HOP cards so they can get their lives back up and running.
