Matemateāonga Track restoration
Recut the Matemateāonga Track to a standard worthy of Whanganui National Park

We are fund raising to put two teams of track cutters into the Matemateāonga Track for 10 days to recut this track back to a standard that is suitable for mountain biking and tramping.
This is one of the best tracks in Whanganui National Park and we have the people who want to put in a combined effort to get it back to its best.
About us
The Backcountry Trust is a non-profit registered charitable trust that funds volunteer work throughout New Zealand maintaining New Zealand's backcountry hut and track network.
