I'm 9 and going to cycle as much as I can of the 300km to raise money for Heart Kids in Southland.

Southland

My name is Ryan and I am a heart kid. I had open heart surgery in Starship Hospital at 7 days old. I am now 9 years old. I have been involved in every one of these rides and only managed to cycle a little bit, but this year I have a new bike and I want to ride as much as I can of the Milford to Invercargill ride to raise money for other kids like me and their families. One day I will complete the total ride but this year I should be able to manage somewhere between 30km and 50km over the day as long as the weather is good. I am really looking forward to supporting the men and ladies doing the full ride.

About us

Each week in NZ, 12 babies are born with a heart defect. Heart Kids Southland provides support to over 100 families in our region who have a child with Childhood heart disease. We provide support by way of travel assistance for medical treatment, family events and funding to go to camps for heart kids. Support is provided through life.

Use of funds

All money raised will be used to support Southland kids born with a heart condition and their families. It can be used in many different ways including support when travelling for treatments, camps, family support, learning and many other ways.
