This is Pucks only chance of life!
Nationwide
Puck (his siblings & young mum) came to us from an awful situation.
With health issues & from day one, we worked hard to get them to good health & ready to be adopted.
Puck, however, had one thing after another & was a "quiet kitten", that is never a good thing.
At just over 6 months old, he took another turn for the worse & stayed in the clinic for 3 days intensive treatment & we were devastated when his blood tests pointed straight to FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)
FIP, has always been a death sentence; be it days, weeks or months, the outcome was always inevitable.
Now there are drugs approved in NZ, that can SAVE HIS LIFE!
The treatment is a minimum of 84 daily injections, blood tests throughout & then, hopefully, a happy, healthy cat.
Treatment may be extended or resumed if bloods are not back to "normal" or he relapses.
This drug is expensive! we are looking at approx. $7,500 just for the drug, not including daily needles, syringes, other meds to make the injections easier, repeat bloods etc.
We have ALWAYS said we would NEVER allow money to determine what course of action we took & it wouldn't stop us from treating any of our cats/kittens, but quite honestly, we are struggling week to week & simply cannot afford this.
We've started his injections, as time is of the essence & he has responded well.
We've ordered our first 8 vials, but after that, we are stuck.
There is no guarantee treatment will work, all we know is that he will have to be euthanised if we don't try.
Franklin Cat Rescue are a small team of dedicated volunteers committed to the rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming of abandoned, stray, neglected & abused cats & kittens.
100% of proceeds & donations go directly to the essential care of the cats & kittens.
All funds will be spent on the "wonder drug" & if more is raised the needles, syringes, blood tests & other meds required during this treatment.
37 days In! 13 May 2022
We are now 37 days into Puck's treatment & he's doing OK!
He has gained some weight, brighter in himself but does have his off days, dips & gives us grey hairs.
We went through this with Z, but the end result was a happy, healthy kit so we can only hope for the same.
HUGE Thanks to all who have donated towards his treatment, we were able to get his next 12 vials today... that's a lot of money in those itty bitty bottles! and we couldn't have done it without your incredible generosity.
We are a little way of our target to go for the next order, but it'll work out (or so I keep telling myself)
We have attached some photos of him in his various attire.
We are not ones to dress up cats, but his multiple injection sites are shaved bare to make the injections easier on him. He has sadly had to have extra meds on board to help with his injections & relax him (so he doesn't get tetchy) & he wears his little coats at night just to make sure he doesn't get the chills & to hide his modesty 🙂
Please keep sending Good Hoodoo for the next 47 days & blood tests!
