Sponsor a Native Plant

$802 of $25,000 goal
Given by 13 generous donors in around 6 months

Sponsor a native tree to be planted within the Whau River catchment for as little as $10 per plant.

Auckland

The Whau River Catchment Trust is a local Not for Profit environmental organisation, we are reaching out to all Auckland businesses and individuals to make a donation towards sponsoring a native plant.

WRCT is launching our 'Sponsor a Native Plant'. For only $10 per plant, you can donate a native tree to be planted by our incredible volunteers within the Whau River Catchment area. On the average we plant some 20,000 plants a year.

For businesses who would like to become more involved and sponsor larger numbers of plants (a minimum of 100 plants), plants can come with an enviro-friendly plant label with your company name and logo. Lead the way by sponsoring either one or many native trees.

Planting more native trees means we are helping to combat the effects of climate change and supporting Auckland Council's Urban Ngahere (Forest) strategy. Native trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air creating cleaner air for future generations and better habitat for our native birds and other vitally important native species.

*Most of the plants are raised by Volunteers in our Community Native Plant Nursery.

Let's move forward towards a greener Whau, a greener Auckland, a greener Aotearoa.
