CAT LOVERS-CAN YOU HELP 'SPONSOR A SNIP' FOR A HOMELESS CAT- FUNDING HAS RUN OUT!

As some of you know members of the Auckland Community Cat Coalition (CCC) Inc. spend most of their time and money trapping and de-sexing the homeless cats dumped on the streets of Auckland, so that less kittens are born and a greater proportion can be helped. Last year we de-sexed over 1,500 cats. CCC subsidises the desexing cost with the help of a few generous vets who keep their prices low for us. (Members pay for everything else).

But we receive no government funding for this important work/community service and we are running out of the grant money we have been able to attract. This means, for most of us, that de-sexing of strays will have to stop as we will now have to cover the whole cost - it's financially impossible for us to continue to trap and de-sex strays as well as cover the costs of the kittens in our care. This is a disaster for the poor cats and kittens out on the street. We already struggle to stay on top of the problem of the public abandoning their un-desexed cats when we have the funding, and if de-sexing has to stop, the population will explode as we are in the middle of kitten season.

So we're hoping people will 'sponsor' a cat de-sex. On average $70 will 'fix' (de-sex) a female and $50 a male. But every donation, even $5, will help.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT BECAUSE CCC IS A REGISTERED CHARITY, YOU CAN CLAIM BACK ONE THIRD OF YOUR DONATION.

About us

The Community Cat Coalition Inc. supports carers of Auckland's community (stray or semi-owned) cats. Our big focus is community cat de-sexing, because there are too many kittens being born and it's impossible to find enough good homes!

Use of funds

The money will be used exclusively on surgical de-sexing by vets, and microchipping for record keeping purposes. We have no overheads. The more donations we receive the more cats we help.
