The NZ Cat Foundation desperately needs donations to pay the spiraling vet bills associated with the sanctuary’s stray cats.
Auckland
Over the last few years as The NZ Cat Foundation has become more well- known we have been constantly asked for help to not only de-sex but to take into our sanctuary a huge number of unwanted cats who through no fault of their own have become stray. Many requests are from people who have been caring for strays either in their back yard or perhaps a place of work or community area. Unfortunately over recent times certain people have been trying to change the public’s perception of these poor strays and they are now often treated with cruelty. Landlords threaten eviction to those who want to feed the strays and employers bring in pest control treating these poor cats as vermin not acknowledging they actually do a community service in naturally keeping down the rats!
Our Founder , Anne Batley Burton Has had numerous opportunities to promote our work in de-sexing , giving veterinary treatment and offering sanctuary to these cats however in spite of radio and TV appearances sadly VERY FEW donations have been made however more and more come to us for help.
WE CAN NOT CONTINUE WITHOUT HELP FROM THE COMMUNITY.
Vet bills alone are around $5000 per month and coupled with Food, litter etc expenses these amount to up to $10,000 . per month. Presently expenses are being funded by our Founder.
All you cat lovers out there???? Are YOU willing to help so we can continue our work? Please visit our FB page and website to see what we do and the life we offer these hitherto unwanted unloved cats. Www.thenzcatfoundation.org.nz
