We need to raise 20K in 12 days so we can break ground on a permanent home and keep filling hungry tummies while saving the planet!
Kaiapoi, Canterbury
Satisfy needs a forever home. Over forty community organisations such as food banks, community meal providers and schools, rely on Satisfy to provide them with healthy, quality surplus or unsellable food that was destined for landfill or animal feed.
To keep doing our mahi well, it takes more space than we currently have. We need a bigger, permanent home now! The need in our community is so great with many children, families and people going hungry while huge amounts of food are going to waste. There’s a simple solution – help us break ground on a bigger and more permanent space so we can keep redirecting excess food to where it is needed in our community.
Excitingly, we already have land and an architectural concept, but we need $20k to take the next steps. This will fund consented plans and get the diggers to site so we can break ground! The total cost of the build is around $1.5 million. We currently have an estimated $750k ear-marked from potential grant funders. If we can get our consented plans and show our funders we have community support, we are halfway there!
Your donation will help us make this dream a reality - to have a forever home so that we can keep filling plates while reducing waste. Together, we can do this, donate now!

Update on Satisfy’s Forever Home Project 15 October 2024
Hello amazing supporter! As you may be aware, the funding landscape has become incredibly tough. We are facing a more competitive environment, and this has slowed our progress in securing the full funding we need to move ahead as originally planned. However, our team remains committed to finding solutions that will allow us to bring this project to life. Here are some of the steps we are taking: We are actively investigating options to reduce overall build costs or potentially stage the build in phases to ease financial pressures. In addition to traditional funding avenues, we are exploring alternative options, such as loans from impact investment providers, to bridge any gaps in funding. Recognising the immediate space needs of our growing operations, we are also considering interim solutions, such as renting a larger premises in the short term, while continuing to work toward our long-term vision. Our staff are dedicating significant time and energy to maintaining our current operations, which continue to grow. Our current premises is increasingly stretched to accommodate the volume of rescued food, staff, and volunteers. This has, in part, limited our ability to fully focus on the new premises build as much as we would have liked. Your support has always been the backbone of our work, and we truly value your partnership. Thank you for standing with us as we navigate these challenges. All good things sure do take time! We will get there!
