Bellatrix and Zu are female Guinea Pigs who need special vet care to save their lives. Can you help cover some of the cost?
Auckland
Bellatrix is a 4 year old female Guinea Pig, that was surrendered to Auckland Cavy Care in early July 2015.
Bellatrix had surgery on the 5th of August to remove her lump. As the lump had been there so long, a lot of blood supply was going into the lump and it had intertwined it's self into the area surrounding it, making it a tricky surgery.
She is currently doing okay and is healing well from the operation.
Her vet cost, is going to be over $600, as if she continues to heal from this operation she still needs to get spayed, as if not, another lump is likely grow.
Zu is a younger Guinea Pig at only 2 - 3 years old, however while she eats all the time she does not gain weight and so something is medically wrong.
Sadly, Zu's blood and urine test's did not show anything, and so if we wish to continue searching for what could be the cause of her illness the next step would be an ultrasound - Zu's vet fees are already over $350.
Zu is unable to gain weight, even though she has a healthy appetite and her gut appears to be working normally.
We hope that for both girls, after all this extra vet care, that they can live happy and long lives. Please help us give them the chance.
