23 will cost us around $5,000, in vet bills, food and care over the next 3 to 6 months to get them ready to head off to new homes.

Please help us support this lovely herd of 23 rescue guinea pigs. This is a huge group for our small charity to take on, but after hearing the back story we hope you will help us help them on their journey to new homes.
Backstory
We were approached by a lady and she and asked if we could help her with her elderly fathers beloved guinea pig herds on Waiheke. He needed to start some hospital treatments, but he was putting it off as he was concerned about who would take care of his beloved guinea pigs. The family had found homes for 6 animals but that still left 23 to be rehomed and time was running out.
It was a big ask of us, as a small charity of only 2 people. A group of 23 would cost us around $5,000, in vet bills, desex fees, food and care over the next 3 to 6 months to get them ready to head off to new homes.
After some consideration we knew the only right answer was to say “Yes”. Being an animal rescue is not only about the animals, it is also about the support we can provide to their human owners in their time of need. So, the animals made their way over to us on the ferry and now this gentleman can now start his treatments without a concern for the welfare of his loved pets’.
We do hope you can help us, as we support a fellow kiwi move on with his life with peace of mind, as we work to get these animals on their journey to new forever homes.
No donation is too small – thank you
