Born paralysed, this puppy requires ongoing treatment.
Auckland
Paddlefoot was born into a big litter, but he was the only one whose back legs didn't work.
The smallest of the bunch - he got picked on by his big siblings. His owners couldn't afford to check or treat him, so their neighbour stepped in to help and brought him to our clinic.
At 5 weeks old, his back end had barely grown and was completely immobile. The first veterinary opinion was euthanasia - with his owners financial situation, his quality of life was too poor and his future looked bleak...
So we stepped in, talked to the owners who agreed to let us adopt him. He has a team behind him - fostering him, training him, getting his vaccinations sorted, building make-shift wheelchairs, offering physio, hydrotherapy and lots of love and cuddles!
But Paddlefoot still has a long road ahead of him. His condition is unclear, meaning his future is uncertain and costly. He'll need ongoing treatment - specialist appointments, xrays, therapy, medications, wheelchairs to support him while he grows, maybe even surgery.
This happy, bouncy pup deserves all the help he can get. With your help, we can let him live a normal dog life.
When Paddlefoot was brought to the clinic, we couldn't stand back and let him be euthanised before he'd been given the chance to live.
Auckland Cavy Care is a guinea pig rescue in Auckland, New Zealand.

Meet the Fosters/Change in Payee 9 November 2018
Hey friends!
I'm relocating - I'll still be in the background helping fundraise and helping to find a forever home but little Paddlefoot is 100% in the care Raylene and her family. Thus we're changing the payee so the funds go directly to his fosterers.
Love and thanks to you all!
