Auckland Cavy Care needs help to pay the vet bills from the guineas let loose to fend for themselves against a cat in Pt Chev.
Auckland
This event is to help cover vet bills for 4 of 7 guinea pigs dumped and left to fend for themselves against a cat.
Auckland Cavy Care received a call on the 9th of November about a guinea pig that had been caught by a families cat.
This guinea had multiple scratch wounds on his back and bite wounds on his neck.
Sadly the next day, the family's cat caught another guinea pig, this one had gotten it's leg injuries and was rushed straight to the vet, He is still currently in intensive care at the vet clinic, and racking up quite the bill but we have decided not let money stop this boy from living.
The next day, two more guineas were caught and sadly killed. Following that, another guinea pig caught, however, she passed less than 12 hours after being attacked.
The next day, Auckland Cavy Care went and found the property where the cats (yes now more than one) were getting the guineas from. They caught a pregnant girl and sadly had to go home knowing there was still one out there. The next day, 7 hours were spent at the location and they finally caught the last guinea pig.
Auckland Cavy Care is a guinea pig rescue in Auckland, New Zealand.
Funds raised will be used to make sure the Pt Chev guineas are able to get all the vet care they need.
Making progress with the man who dumped these guineas 21 November 2017
Thanks to one of our supporters we have been able to get in contact again with the man who dumped the guineas in point chev and this time he allowed us to work with him. Yesterday we went and took 5 females, he still has 7 but we will be going back again in a week and there will be no guineas left in his care.
A slow progress but we are getting somewhere.
Meet Emily, Evelyn, Elena, Essi and Elli; all were running around with the two boys we will be picking up next week so all are on pregnancy watch until Jan. :/
