Wairarapa Festival of Christmas, Greytown

We’re thrilled to confirm that the 2025 Wairarapa Festival of Christmas 2025 is confirmed! For a town of just under 3,000 people, Greytown sure knows how to put on a memorable event.

Despite its size, Wairarapa’s Festival of Christmas has become one of New Zealand’s most cherished winter celebrations. Over an entire month, more than 60,000 visitors experience world-class projection lighting, night markets, live entertainment, acrobatics, fireworks, and delicious food - all while embracing the spirit of a mid-winter Christmas.

What makes this festival truly special is that it’s FREE for everyone to enjoy. It’s an event where people of all ages come together to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories with friends and whānau.

Through crowdfunding, plus support and donations from an amazing group of businesses and organisations, we’ve managed to raise enough money for the 2025 Festival to go ahead!

But to bring a bit more magic, we still need your help.

We’re a small town with limited resources, and whilst we have enough money to put the festival on, we’d love to sprinkle some magic. Your donation will help us bring more lights, more snow, and bigger, better experiences, as well as support the essential services that keep our festival running and keep you safe.
