Sharing love, joy and Christmas spirit in one of New Zealand's most adored small towns

For a little town of just under 3,000 people, Greytown sure knows how to host an event.

And because it is small, Greytown’s Festival of Christmas delivers one of the cosiest, happiest and joyful festivals in the country, right in the middle of winter. In 2023 over 60,000 people joined us throughout July to enjoy the lights, entertainment, food, shows and fireworks to share that mid winter Christmas spirit of togetherness.

And what makes it so special is that it remains completely FREE for all to attend. This is important to us. We want to welcome everyone, regardless of their income.

Now, our Festival needs to ensure our precious visitors are safe and our town is compliant with complicated traffic, health and safety regulations, and that comes with a lot of extra costs to a little town with limited resources.

So, we’re asking New Zealand to get behind our Festival to help us keep the love, joy and happiness flowing next winter. If you’ve visited our Festival before, we hope you’ll agree that what we give back is worthy of your support.
