Real food, real relationships for a healthier village

Crop Up has become Greytown's Saturday morning meeting place for our village to feed itself from local gardens, enjoy freshly caught fish, taste straight-from-the-oven bread, pick up meadow-laid eggs, try locally grown wheat flour and provide a place where we can gather, eat brunch, drink coffee and get social with our neighbours. It's a community check in spot, a place for fundraisers to sell their home baking, or a spot to collect Greytown's garden flowers to fill our homes with.

While the land and facilities are provided free by our main sponsors, and we have a lovely team of volunteers helping each week, Crop Up's real costs include insurance, publicity, grounds maintenance, toilet cleaning, power and project management to make sure everything happens on time for the gates to open every Saturday over summer and autumn. Annual costs work out at just under $7,000 per Crop Up season.

We've had wonderful support from grants and community funding over the last two Crop Up seasons. This year, our funding is no longer available. And without funding, Crop Up simply can't proceed.

We believe Crop Up is so much more than a Farmer's Market. If you've ever attended, you'll have seen the joy of a village truly coming together, recognizing familiar faces or chatting and making new friends while lining up for Martin Bosley's fish! Crop Up is where we relax and connect.
