Funds for David Steve Askin

$0 donated
Started 8 years ago

In memory of legend David Steve Askin

Canterbury

This fund is on behalf of the community in Governors Bay and the greater Port Hills area in recognition of the ultimate sacrifice made by David Steven Askin on 14 February 2017. Also our appreciation of his bravery and that of the other helicopter pilots and fire fighters protecting our people and our property from the Port Hills fire.

Anyone from far or wide is welcome to donate.

At the moment, we don't know anything about David apart from what we've seen on the media, but we wanted to get this page up and running as soon as possible due to the outpouring of appreciation from the local community and offers to contribute.

Governors Bay Jetty Restoration Trust's involvement (page creator)

Governors Bay Jetty Restoration Trust is setting this page up on behalf of the local community because we already have a verified Givealittle account.

All donations go into the Trust's account and after the campaign ends on 14 March 2017, we will pass the funds raised to David's family or the chosen charity.

About us

Thanks to the generosity of jetty supporters, we rebuilt the jetty. However, we took out a loan to get the job done so we are still fundraising to pay for the new jetty.

Use of funds

The money will be given to David's family or a charity of their choice.
