Help Bald Angels get Kai Boxes to Kiwi kids in the Far North

Help Bald Angels get Kai Boxes (food parcels) and Christmas gifts to Kiwi kids in the Far North

Northland, Far North District

The ho,ho, ho of Christmas doesn’t happen for so many of our most vulnerable and impoverished Kiwi kids. Just getting a decent meal won’t happen, let alone the thrill of a Christmas gift. Families in our community have been really impacted by rising food costs, lack of jobs and of course, Covid. A car repair, ill health or an unexpected bill can be just crippling.

The stress is very real and when tough, grown men cry with relief at being gifted a Christmas Kai Box and presents for the kids, you know things are really rough. Grandparents raising moko (grandchildren)are overwhelmed with gratitude, and can look forward to a family time of smiles and joy. Stress is reduced for families, so family harm may be averted and children are safer.

“Being able to connect and engage with at-risk whānau at a high stress time of year is valuable in terms of harm prevention and management. Turning up with gifts and kai is a real bonus. It makes a difference.” [Quote: NZ Police]

These are reports from our partners who deliver the Angel Christmas packs each year. They are Police, Plunket, Women’s Refuge, iwi social workers, educators and health providers. They really do know who deserves and needs the support.

Our generous community donates 100s of gifts every year in the spirit of whānaungatanga and manaakitanga…but we really your need help this year!

- A family Kai Box (food parcel-with fresh meat and veggies) costs $150

Anything you give will definitely make a difference! Just $25 will help us fill tummies and put smiles on faces.

We are a registered charity and we guarantee your donations will directly impact our most vulnerable kids.
